Quick and Easy

Reviewer: Alettta, 10/30/2010

Should be 5 stars and a 1. Can teach kids as a first or second project. Need a quick gift? This is a perfect project. Throw in some novelty yarn and your friends who don't knit think you are really talented.

Easy, quick gift, great for beginners.

This is a very easy scarf pattern. Great for beginners, or as a quick last minute gift. This would be a great project for teaching your kids to knit. It knits up quickly using 2 strands of bulky yarn, so there is nearly-instant gratification. My one complaint is that it seems overly simple for a "2" difficulty rating. It is just a garter stitch scarf. Beginners should not be afraid to try this pattern. Can you cast on, knit, and bind off? You can make this scarf.

Great Beginner Project

This is such a simple, easy pattern for anybody to use to learn the basics. I taught my son-in-law how to knit by using this pattern and in just an hour he was on his own! He and my daughter own Alpacas and he wanted to learn how to use the fiber. There are so many beautiful yarns at Joann's to choose from and this pattern always looks great!

Easy beginner project.

I gave the needles and enough yarn to my three never-knit-before nieces ( ages 8, 9, and 11 ) on Wednesday morning before Thanksgiving and I spent an hour teaching them to cast on and how to do the knit stitch. They all had them done by Thursday morning and were begging me to teach them purling so they could do more things. Great beginner's project, it works up quickly so you don't lose interest ( maybe this should be a skill level of one? )

Quick N Easy

Quick and Easy for an experienced knitter, so would recommend it as a Level 1; but it took me a little more than 2 hours to knock it out. For a fairly new knitter, it can be a bit of a challenge working the double strands, so I could agree with a 2 for beginners.

Easy beginning knitter's project

I'm only reviewing this because I think the other review is so off-base. If you have any knitting experience whatsoever, this is a very straightforward project. Cast on 12 stitches, knit every row until it's long enough, bind off. The only thing that might be tricky about it is that you're holding two strands together as one.

I thought the skill level should have been three not two. When I saw the number two, I thought I was going to be able to do it.
