Additional Information

  • 12" x 12" DCWV® Spring Stack
  • Mason jar
  • Food coloring
  • 1-1/2" pink grosgrain ribbon
  • Wax paper
  • Cookie sheet
  • Scratch paper
  • Paper crafting adhesive
  • Mod Podge® decoupage paste
  • Paper trimmer
  • Pinking shears
  • Pencil

1. Mix your desired color of food coloring with 1-1/2 to 2 tablespoons of water in a bowl. Put 2-3 tablespoons of Mod Podge inside the Mason jar. Add the food coloring/water mixture to the jar and start moving it around. Twist and turn the jar until a desired look is achieved, dumping out any excess into a bowl. Let it dry upside down on a scratch piece of paper for at least 30 minutes. Move the jar face down onto a sheet of wax paper (with wax paper on a cookie sheet) in the oven, temperature set on warm, for 10 minutes. Flip over the jar and allow it to dry an additional 20 minutes inside the oven*.
2. Depending on the size of the jar, cut a strip of paper to cover the main body of the jar. Trim the ends with pinking shears, leaving a 1-3/4" gap between each end. Adhere this around the center of the jar with the ends in front.
3. Wrap the ribbon around the center of the paper strip, tying it off in a bow in the front.
4. Remove the lid, attaching only the band around the top.
5. Insert flowers.
