Tie the black elastic to the bird mask. Measure to child’s head for best fit.
Cut out feather stencils.
Trace stencils onto adhesive fabric sheets. Cut out and set aside.
One at a time, attach the feathers to the mask. Use the large feathers first and layer on the small feathers until the entire mask is covered. Don’t cover the eye holes.
To secure the feathers, press the feathers on the mask with an iron.
Lay out cape on a flat surface.
Start with the longest row of attached feathers and place on the bottom of the cape.
Continue laying out the feathers on the cape until all rows of feathers are placed. Shift the feathers to ensure that the entire cape surface is covered.
Starting at the top, flip the first row of feathers up. Place several glue dots on the backside of this row of feathers and then return feathers to it’s original position. Press glued area of feather onto cape.
Repeat this step for each row of feathers until complete.
To secure feathers, press feathers onto cape with iron or sew each row in place.
