love my wooden hoops

Reviewer: marie, 04/08/2009

I can only embroider with wooden hoops. Plastic hoops stretch fabric and the screws are too tight. I have never had a wooden hoop stretch or mark my fabric. I can leave my fabric in the hoop and not worry about the ring mark setting in. Love my wood!!!

You Get What You Pay For

Don't bother buying these. These hoops mark fabric (from the hoop itself and from the metal screws used in the hoop) and are poor at keeping an even tension.

Worked Nicely!

I had no problem with this hoop. You can't beat the price either!

Great Deal - If You Follow the Directions . . .

Reviewer: Jyl, 11/07/2008

These wooden embroidery hoops are a fantastic value for the price. Most, if not all, embroidery instruction books tell you to wrap the inner hoop with ribbon or strips of fabric. I use .5" strips of white cotton, and I have no slippage or tension problems. Yes, they can be a little rough in spots - but it's nothing a few strokes with an emery board can't cure. For my money, these are definitely my first choice.

Terrible!

No quality... I have the same opinion below ... Save your money and buy a decent one!

Good for low budget silk screening.

Reviewer: Panita, 06/12/2007

I used these for a silk screen project with a high school art class. This was an afforable alternative to the more expensible professional frames. They where pretty durable and took the use and abuse well. The quality varies, but most hold the fabric pretty tight.

I have been embroidering for over 30 years, I will use nothing but the wooded hoops they hold the fabric tighter than the plastic ones I guess I am just old fashion. But I highly recommend them and will not use any other kind

Frame Your Cross Stitch Gift Projects

Reviewer: Marian, 10/29/2005

Wood hoops are great as frames on cross stitch projects. Use 3" hoops to frame small Christmas motifs stitched on Aida fabric, and finish with a ruffle made of Noel fabric in a complimentary Christmas print and a ribbon loop for hanging on your tree. The light weight won't drag the tree branches down. Larger hoops work well for making pieces to adorn the walls of your home or office. Match your decor and frame your favorite saying or design. Bonus: These items often become gifts which family and friends treasure for years to come.
