These things can be fragile. This hoop came with a splint in the inside hoop and needed repair after the first use. But again they can be fragile

Quilting hoops
I used 2 of these to make an obelisk for an outdoor greenery arrangement. It worked well for this project. It is a bit flimsy for this purpose but is not designed for it but seemed sturdy before separating.
