Love IT!

Reviewer: Linda, 02/18/2013

I've owned this little winder since 1986! It has saved me tons of money on not needing special cones. My biggest advice is to watch your winding. For the price and convenience of having our own balls wound - it amazes me when I hear people gripe! I love it and recommend it to my friends.

Good little winder

I got this winder a couple days ago, and I love it; It's perfect for my needs. I was hesitant at first after reading the negative reviews, but after following the directions, pulling the yarn guide out until it is secure, and feeding the yarn so it doesn't snag on the exposed gears, it works great with no problems. Worth the money I spent; I waited until it was 40% off and I used a free shipping coupon. Saved me $20. Overall, I'd recommend it, but wait until it's on sale. :-)

Works fine for me!

I read the reviews on this and was very leary to purchase it, but went ahead and did so anyway. When I got mine, I had the same issue with the yarn guide not staying up. so I taped it and it was fine for a while. one day, I decided to try to take it apart and when I did, I yanked on the yarn guide for some reason and it came out the rest of the way. It works like a dream now! So I put it back together and haven't had a problem since. I love this product and I would definitely recommend it to other yarnies! :D

I LOVE this product. It works wonderfully. Just be gentle and follow a few tips. I made a video about it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-q0afeSkiA

Works fine if you use it correctly

For those having problems with this great little gadget, you have pull on the yarn guide a little harder than when you first feel resistence. Once you have it reallly locked into place it doesn't budge. If your yarn is tangling around the gears, try holding the yarn as it feeds into the guide. Keep an eye on it and if you see a loop slip below the ball, stop before you have a mess. I can't wait to get everything beautifully wound into neat, easy to use bundles. I will say you probably can't wind a big skein of yarn into a giant ball but most regular sized skeins wind up great!

Yarn Ball Winder

I followed some advice from other reviews for this product and it helped with trouble shooting. You do need to make sure that you pull the medal yarn lead out completely; add a lil force :-) I was able to wind up eight balls with no problem. So glad others posted reviews, it helped a bunch.

would not recommend

I recently purchased this and I am not very happy. The main problem i experienced is the yarn guide, it kept falling and causing the yarn to snag. If they woulf fix this feature it would be a good product. I am keeping it only because it would be more trouble to return.

I love this

I read most of the reviews before buying. And I must say that I love this winder. It really do the jobs I have not had a problem. I have been winding up all my yarn since I recieved it, which was Tuesday And I have made a lot of room. My craft room looks so tidy now.
