15"Fabric Basket

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• 1 yd 54" wide Home Dec fabric
• 1 1/2 yd heavyweight interfacing
• Matching thread
• Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

NOTE: Use 1/2" seam allowance.
1. Cut 2 pieces of Home Dec fabric 16"x 16" for bottom (for basket and lining).
2. Cut 8 pieces 16" wide x 10" high for front, back and sides (for basket and lining).
3. Baste or pin interfacing to WS of bottom, front, back and sides of basket pieces.
4. Sew sides to front and back, stopping 1/2" from bottom.
5. Trim interfacing close to stitching.
6. Press seams open.
7. Sew bottom to sides, front and back; pivoting at the corners.
8. Trim interfacing close to stitching; trim corners.
9. Repeat with lining; leaving an opening in the bottom for turning.
10. With RST, sew lining to basket.
11. Turn RS out and press. Edge stitch top.
12. Slip stitch opening closed.
