FINISHED SIZE: 18"x 18"

CUT LIST:
- WHITE BACKGROUND FABRIC-
- (6) 3" Squares
- (2) 2 1/2"x 15" strips
- (2) 2 1/2"x 11 1/2" strips
- (2) 2 1/2"x 9 3/4" strips
- (1) 2 1/2"x 4 1/4"
- PINK RIBBON FABRIC
- (6) 3" squares
- (12) 2 1/2" squares
- FABRICS A-F
- (6) 2 1/2" squares of each print
- Use the above cut list to prepare all of your fabric.
- Begin by gathering your (6) 3" squares in white and pink.
- To create the 12 half white/half pink squares you will start by lining up a white square on top of each pink with the right sides together.
- Line up a ruler from corner edge to corner edge of the squares and draw a straight, diagonal line across with a pencil.
- Line the edge of your presser foot up against the pencil line and stitch a straight line. Use a scant 1/4" seam allowance.
- Repeat on the other side of the diagonal pencil line so that you have straight stitch lines on both sides.
- Use your rotary cutter to cut down the pencil line and separate the pieces.
- Press open your new half pink/half white squares. Remember to press your seams open throughout this project.
- Trim your 12 new squares down to 2 1/2"x 2 1/2". Use the 45" diagonal line mark on your cutting mat to help do so.
- Follow the attached pattern to stitch and piece together the ribbon and white portion. Begin with the inner ribbon pieces and work your way out. Remember to line up your seams as you go and trim edges to be even.
- Sew together the border strips (with fabrics A-F) before attaching. Stitch the top and bottom 10 piece sections first following the pattern, then the 8 piece side sections.
- Attached the 8 piece side strips first using a straight stitch and putting the right sides together. Press open.
- Lastly repeat with the top and bottom 10 piece strips.
- Trim the edges to make a perfect square and press.
- For the pillow back:
- Cut two 12"x 19" rectangles for back.
- Fold under 1/2" on one side of each of the back sections.
- With RST, place back sections over front, overlapping ends.
- Stitch around outside 1/2".
- Turn and insert pillow form.
JOANN HACKS:
- As you continue to sew the pieces together to create the pattern, remember to always press open your seams. This will help to keep everything flat and lined up correctly.
- Trim up your edges as you stitch the pieces together so that you always have a nice clean square or rectangle to work with.
