3-D Pumpkin House Sign

Beginner Weekend Project

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1 unfinished porch sign
  • 5 Small foam pumpkins
  • 1 X-Acto knife
  • Orange spray paint
  • Bag of green moss
  • Assorted fall decorations including small mini pumpkins, small flowers
  • Hot glue gun
  • Quick Grip glue
  • Acrylic paint: black, tan
  • Light wood stain
  • Foam brush
  • Small paintbrush
  • Cricut machine
  • Black adhesive vinyl and fall colored adhesive vinyl

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Stain the base of the unfinished wood porch sign using the foam brush.
  2. Let it dry.
  3. Paint the trim edge of the board with the black acrylic paint.
  4. Find the seam on the pumpkins.
  5. Using the X-Acto knife, slice the pumpkin in half from top to bottom.
  6. Paint the half pumpkins using the orange spray paint.
  7. Let them dry.
  8. Paint the tops of the pumpkins with the tan paint and let them dry.
  9. Attach the half pumpkins to the stained porch board with the Quick Grip glue.
  10. On the Circuit machine in Design Space create house numbers and fall leaves to fit on the front of the pumpkins.
  11. Cut them out of the adhesive vinyl.
  12. You can attach the vinyl to the front of the pumpkins, or you can use the outline to trace the numbers and leaves and then paint them.
  13. Attach the fall greenery at the tops of the pumpkins using the hot glue gun and glue sticks.
