I used a similar one from Jo-Ann Stores for the past twenty years and never had a problem punching thru leather sandal straps on my Birkenstocks. Unfortunately, the old one disappeared and this new one is going back to the store.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Generally Good I got this awhile ago, but I do use it all the time. Problem is that something seems to be misaligned and it doesn't cut the whole circle equally. I end up having to punch every hole twice. I don't know if it was just the one I got or a general defect. Otherwise it totally would be a great tool. It's the only thing I'd use to punch extra holes in a belt for instance.
