SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 1 Bottle of tan liquid Rit Dye
- Medium paintbrush
- 1 pair of white canvas tennis shoes
- 1 small glass bowl
- Plastic gloves
- 1 fabric marker
- Old towel
DIRECTIONS:
- Wet the white canvas tennis shoes under running water.
- Stay by the sink to apply the dye.
- Pour a small amount of the Rit Dye into the glass bowl.
- With your paint brush apply the tan Rit Dye all over the shoe.
- With warm running water lightly rinse the shoe to dilute the color to the desired light tan.
- Drain the water off and with an old towel, blot off the water from the shoe.
- Let the shoes completely dry.
- Using the fabric marker, starting at the back of the shoe, draw on spots. Do this completely around the shoe varying the pattern and size of dots as you go.
JOANN HACKS:
- If you want the shade lightly, rub the canvas with your fingers as you are rinsing off some of the dye.
