Bandana Dress

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 2 XL Bandanas 27"x 27"
  • 8 ft Polkadot grosgrain ribbon to coordinate 
  • 1/4" elastic (18")
  • Basic Sewing Supplies

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut 2"- 3" (depending on desired length of dress) from top of both bandanas to make 2 coordinating scrunchies.
  2. Turn under top edge of bandana 1/4" then 1" and sew close to edge to make casing for ribbon.
  3. Measure 6" from top of casing and mark for armhole opening.
  4. With right sides together, pin sides and sew from the 6" mark to the bottom of the bandana.
  5. Measure two 4 ft pieces of ribbon and thread through the casing for ties, tying into bows at shoulders.
  6. To make scrunchies, take 2"- 3" pieces of fabric and with right sides together, sew a casing and turn right side out.
  7. Thread one 9" piece of elastic through casing, being careful to pin end so it doesn’t slip through casing.
  8. Tie or sew ends of elastic together.
  9. Finish ends of fabric by sewing together.
