Bandana Wire Headband

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Two bandanas
  • Bleach
  • Scissors
  • 18 gauge wire
  • Iron
  • Sewing machine
  • Coordinating thread

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a plastic container, mix one-part bleach, two-parts water.
  2. Submerge the bandanas into the water/bleach solution for a minute or two. Remove and ring excess solution from them.
  3. Allow wet bandanas to sit for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Wash the bandanas thoroughly. Allow to dry.
  5. Place the bandanas on on top of the other and sew along one side.
  6. Open the two bandanas and cut out a piece that measures 37"x 6".
  7. Fold the 37"x 6" piece of fabric in half lengthwise, iron the edge.
  8. Sew along the long edge.
  9. Turn the piece right side out.
  10. Cut each end of the folded fabric at an angle, cutting from the folded edge, to about 3" from the end on the opposite side.
  11. Fold one of the angled ends into the piece 1/2". Top stitch closed.
  12. Cut a length of wire 36". Fold over each end approximately 2".
  13. Fold the other of the angled end into the piece 1/2". Top stitch closed.
