Rated 1 out of 5 by from That was a challenge I was looking for a fanny pack project and found this. I like that it looks more like a small purse so I thought I'd give it a try. The directions are not written for a beginner so I added my own notes to the directions hoping that might help if someone else wants to try this. I was using materials I had on hand so I didn't use interfacing, the magnetic closure, my zippers were longer than the directions asked for, and the D-rings I used were 3/4" instead of 1". I also didn't make the belt strap as I would like to use webbing trim or belt trim instead. Here are edits I made to the directions provided: DIRECTIONS: NOTE: 1/2" seam allowance (Piece 1) Cut 1 - 12" wide x 11" for front. (Piece 2 & 3) Cut 2 - 12" wide x 11" for lining. (Piece 4) Cut 1 - 12" wide x 5 1/2" from one fabric print for bottom back. (Piece 5 & 6) Cut 1 - 8" wide x 4" and 1 - 8" wide x 3" for back pocket. (Piece 7) Cut 1 - 12" wide x 6 1/2" from second fabric for top back. (Piece 8) Cut 1 - 4" wide x 7" for tabs from second fabric. (Piece 9) Cut 1 - 4" wide x WOF (Width Of Fabric) from second fabric for belt. Cut and fuse interfacing to all pieces except lining. Cut and fuse fleece to lining. Sew the bottom back (Piece 4) to top back (Piece 7). Press seam open. Tabs (Piece 8) - fold tabs in half lengthwise and press. Fold both edges into center and press. Finish piece is 1" wide. Topstitch close to edge on both long sides. Cut tab into two 2" pieces and one 3" piece. Slip the 2" pieces through the D-rings and stitch to each side of back with the top edge of the tab 1.5” above the back seam. Fold the short ends of the remaining tab and stitch to center of back. =For back pocket (Piece 5 & 6) - Sew one side of the 9” zipper to the top 8” edge of the 8"x 4" piece (Piece 5). Then sew the 8"x 3" piece (Piece 6) to other side of zipper. Press fabric away from zipper. Open zipper half way. Fold the top 8” x 4" piece (Piece 5) down over zipper, RST (Right Sides Together) to meet the bottom piece (Piece 6). Stitch along sides and bottom. Turn RSO (Right Side Out) through zipper opening and press. Stitch to bottom back (Piece 4) just below seam. Stitch front piece (Piece 1) to one side of zipper along the 11” top end, press away from zipper. Mark center of front (Piece 1) and 1/2" down from top. Attach one side of magnetic closure. Mark 5" down and attach other part of closure. Sew top edge of bag back to the other side of the top zipper. Press away from zipper. Open zipper half way. With RST, stitch side and bottom seam of bag. To make bottom square corners, fold up bottom seam to meet side seam to form a point. Stitch across 1". Turn through zipper opening. Sew the lining RST like main bag. Fold and press top of lining 1/2" towards wrong side of fabric. Insert lining with WST (Wrong Sides Together) into bag. Stitch to top being careful not to catch the zipper teeth. For Straps (Piece 9): Fold in half lengthwise and press. Fold edges into center and press. (1" finished) Fold short edges in 1/2" for finished edge. Topstitch all the way around including short ends. Insert belt through the side D-rings and center tab in back. Attach belt to parachute clip.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from oh boy The only way these instructions are remotely understandable is to use the same fabric as who ever "wrote" them

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Basic Belt Bag The instructions for this bag leave MUCH to be desired.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor instructions I agree with the other reviewer ~ these instructions, and some abbreviations are so unclear, and I am an experienced sewer. It's a pity, as it seems as if it may be a great project. Perhaps you'd be so kind as to improve the directions. For example, the first step says to sew 2 particular pieces together, but does not describe in any way which edge to sew, as it sounds as it it is only one edge.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from needs more pictures I would have made this project, but after reading through the instructions, I felt it needed a few more pictures to go with the instructions.
