About 38"x39" (96.5 x 99 cm), before folding and seaming
14 1/2 sts + 18 rows = 4" (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS).
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.
When matching the gauge in a pattern, the project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

K1, p1 Rib (over even number of sts)
Row 1: *K1, p1; rep from * to end of row.
Row 2: K the knit sts and p the purl sts.
Rep Row 2 for K1, p1 Rib.
Circular needle is used to accommodate large number of sts. Work back and forth on circular needle as if working on straight needles.
Cast on 138 sts.
Work in K1, p1 Rib until piece measures 2" (5 cm) from beg.
Change to St st (k on RS, p on WS) and work until piece measures 37" (94 cm) from beg.
Work in K1, p1 Rib until piece measures 39" (99 cm) from beg.
Fold piece in half, bringing cast-on and bound-off edges together, to measure 38"x19-1/2" (96.5 x 49.5 cm). Place markers on each of the 19-1/2" (49.5 cm) sides, 7" (18 cm) below fold for armholes. Seam each side from marker down to lower edge. Weave in ends.
