Basket Liners

SUPPLIES & TOOLS: (Basket 12"x7-1/2"x6-1/2"; make adjustments for your basket)

• 1/2 yd fabric for one liner
• Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS: (1/4" seam allowance)

1. Cut 2 - basket sides from pattern.
2. Cut main basket on fold using measurements from guide (use your basket measurements).
3. Cut 2 strips WOF x 1 1/4" for ties.
4. Sew the sides to each of the sides of main basket fabric turning at corners.
5. Turn under the top edge 1/4" and press.
6. Turn again 1/4" and press.
7. Hold the lining up to the basket handles and mark the placements.
8. Unfold the top pressed edge and stitch around marks, (use the drawing as guide to stitching line and cutting lines).
9. Stitch and cut openings for handles.
10. Press the cut edges to inside, stitch close to fold.
11. Fold the top edge under along pressed edge and top stitch.
12. For the ties: fold in half lengthwise.
13. Open up and fold edges into center and press.
14. Cut each strip into 4 pieces.
15. Stitch ties to handle openings.
16. Insert lining into basket and tie.
