Basket Pendant Light

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• Basket
• Hanging light fixture kit with cord and switch
• Dremel tool, multi-purpose bit & sanding drum
• Tape, 2"
• Optional: duct tape, wire cutters
• Pen

DIRECTIONS:

1. Remove the O-ring from the threaded section of the light fixture. This ring will be placed back on the light fixture from the inside of the basket.
2. Place the basket, bottom up, on a flat surface.
3. Lay a strip of tape over the center of the basket.
4. Place the light fixture, threaded side down, on top of the tape. Draw a circle around the fixture onto the tape. Set the light fixture aside.


5. Use a multipurpose bit in a Dremel to remove small sections of basket material. If the basket has wire reinforcements cut through the wire as close to the circle as possible. This may be done with a Dremel or wire cutters. Note that if using a Dremel this may create small sparks so work slowly. If the basket is thin or fragile take time to remove one small section of weave at a time by lifting each section slightly to cut.
6. Use a sanding drum to smooth out any rough edges of the wire and basket.
7. Insert the light fixture into the hole. Replace the O-ring on the bottom of the fixture that protrudes into the basket.
