DESCRIPTION +

 

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 4. yds fabric: Inner lining
  • 4. yds fabric, or 1. yds ea of 3 fabrics: Outer cover
  • 3 bags Poly-fil
  • Biggie Bean Bag or Classic Bean Bag Filler
  • Sewing machine
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Iron & pressing surface
  • Thread
  • Paper & pencil for templates
  • 30" Velcro hook-&-loop fastener (Optional)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. RS = Right sides

  2. Create a pattern template; refer to the diagram.
  3. Cut 6 panels from the inner liner fabric.
  4. Cut 6 panels from the outside fabric or cut 2 panels each from three coordinating fabrics for a total of 6.
  5. INNER LINER: RS facing, sew 2 panels together along 1 side with 1/2" seam allowance. Fold the seam over to one side & iron flat. Stitch the folded seam in place to reinforce the seams. Add another panel using the same method. Set aside.
  6. Repeat step 4 with the other 3 panels.
  7. Sew halves together in the same manner; with 8" open on last seam.
  8. Turn the liner RS out & set aside.
  9. OUTER COVER: Repeat steps 3 through 7 with the outer cover fabric.
  10. Insert the liner into the cover with the openings aligned.
  11. Fill inner liner with the Bean Bag Filler as directed on the bag. Hand stitch the opening closed, so no filler can escape.
  12. Stitch opening in the outer cover closed.OPTION: For a removable outer cover, add 30" of Velcrohook-&-loop fastener to the last seam, instead of sewing the opening closed.
