BASIC SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Purchased laser-cut wood projects
  • Acrylic paint - colors of your choice
  • Wood stain
  • 1/2" Brush
  • Small detailing brush
  • Medium round brush
  • Optional - clear acrylic spray

BASIC DIRECTIONS:

  1. Note: Two coats of paint may be needed. Allow paint to dry thoroughly between coats.
  2. Refer to photo for color placement and layout.

  3. Optional - When paint is thoroughly dry, follow manufacturer’s directions and spray project with clear acrylic spray.

JOANN HACKS:

  • A small handheld hair dryer can be used to dry the paint faster.

BEE ON HONEYCOMB PLAQUE

JOANN HACKS:

  • Stain frame first before painting background.

FRAME WITH FABRIC CENTER AND RATTAN BACKGROUND

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Purchased wood frame with rattan background
  • Fabric - at least 2" larger than center space
  • Wood stain
  • 1/2" brush
  • Spray adhesive
  • Fray check
  • Craft knife
  • Painter’s tape
  • Paper
  • Pencil

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Stain Frame.
  2. Use a piece of paper to draw a pattern the size of the center space.
  3. Use the pattern to draw the space on the WS of the fabric.
  4. Apply a line of Fray Check along the outside of the drawn line all around.
  5. Allow Fray Check to dry.
  6. Use painter’s tape and paper to protect rattan background and frame while exposing center space.
  7. Spray adhesive to exposed center space.
  8. Press fabric onto center space along drawn lines and smooth out.
  9. Allow to dry thoroughly.
  10. Use a sharp craft knife to cut off fabric excess.

WOOD CRATE WITH DIAMOND DOTZ BEES

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Purchased wood crate
  • Black and yellow Diamond Dotz®
  • Black and yellow acrylic paint
  • Small brush
  • Diamond Dotz® adhesive
  • Diamond Dotz® tools
  • Pencil

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Paint crate, allow to dry thoroughly.
  2. Enlarge bee pattern to desired size.
  3. Trace bees onto one side of crate. (see photo)
  4. Paint bees with black and yellow paint, dry thoroughly.
  5. Apply adhesive to one section of bee and glue on colored Dotz.

JOANN HACKS

  • For "flying" trails, use a toothpick to apply a small dab of adhesive to wrong side of Dotz before putting it in place.
