ORGANIZER
With MC, count 15 loops for foundation row (noting yarn end is at far right and all loops are facing upwards).
1st row: Working from left to right, pull 16th loop (from "working yarn") up through 15th loop (last loop of foundation row) from behind to create a knit st. Pull next loop from working yarn up through next loop of foundation row. Continue in this manner to end of row. Do not turn work. 15 sts in row.
2nd row: Working from right to left, with working yarn in front, pull next loop from working yarn towards back through last st worked on previous row. *Pull next loop from working yarn towards back through next st. Repeat from * across to end of row. Do not turn.
3rd row: Working from left to right, with working yarn in back, pull next loop from working yarn up from behind through last st worked on previous row. *Pull next loop from working yarn up from behind through next st. Repeat from * across to end of row. Do not turn.
Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows for basic knitting pattern until work measures approx 27", ending on a 3rd row.
Bind off row: Working in same direction as last row, pull 2nd st through 1st st. Pull 3rd st through 2nd st. Pull 4th st through 3rd st. Continue in this manner to end of row. Cut last loop to create yarn 'tail'. Tie to secure and weave in ends.
Fold Organizer horizontally, overlapping so bind-off edge is 3" from foundation row.
Cut a length of MC approx 40" long. Cut thread at base of all loops to create a smooth yarn for seaming. Thread yarn onto yarn needle. Sew 2 sides of Organizer closed.
BUTTERFLY APPLIQUE
Notes: "Working yarn" is held behind sts throughout work.
Loops from working yarn are always pulled through sts from back to front of work.
With A, count 14 loops for foundation row (noting yarn end is at far right and all loops are facing upwards).
