SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Bernat Macrame
  • Teal (66005) 2 balls
  • Wooden ring approx 2 1/2" in diameter
  • Hair comb for fringe

DIRECTIONS:

NOTE:
Approx 46" long.
To fit plant pot approximately 6-10" in diameter.
Tape ring to flat work surface for ease of working.
Do not tie knots too tightly. Tighten strands just enough to secure knot.
HANGER:
  1. Cut 4 strands 6yds long.
  2. Fold strands in half and tie in Reverse Lark's Head knot to ring.

  4. Divide strands into 4 groups of 2 strands.

  6. Tie the 2 strands in each group together with one Overhand Knot 24" down from ring. This creates first series of knots.

  8. Take 1 strand from first knot and 1 strand from second knot and tie together with one Overhand Knot 6" down from first series of knots.
  9. Take remaining strand from second knot and 1 strand from third knot and tie together with one Overhand Knot 6" down from first series of knots.
  10. Take remaining strand from third knot and 1 strand from fourth knot and tie together with one Overhand Knot 6" down from first series of knots.
  11. Take remaining strand from fourth knot and remaining strand from first knot and tie together with one Overhand Knot 6" [15 cm] down from first series of knots. This completes second series of knots.

  13. Tie all strands together with one Overhand Knot 2" down from second series of knots.
  14. Trim loose strands 12" from last Overhand Knot.

  16. Un-ply each loose strand by twisting strand clockwise until plies loosen, separating plies from the cut end up to knot. Trim evenly.

FRINGE:
  1. Cut 96 strands 18" long.
  2. Knot 12 strands (one at a time) with Reverse Lark's Head Knot along each section of cord running between first and second series of knots (8 sections in total).

  4. Un-ply each fringe strand by twisting strand clockwise until plies loosen, separating plies from the cut end up to knot. Comb fringe and trim evenly.
