SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Bernat Macrame
- Natural (66001) 4 balls
- Transparent tape.
- Wooden dowel approximately 1" diameter and approximately 27" long.
- MEASUREMENTS:
- Approximately 15"x 46", excluding dowel to fit plant pot approximately 6-10" in diameter.
DIRECTIONS:
To find the downloadable patterns click on the "GET PATTERNS" tab above.NOTE:
Tape dowel to flat work surface or hang on wall for ease of working. If hanging, work Steps 31-36 before Step 1.
Do not tie knots too tightly. Tighten strands just enough to secure knot.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR LEFT-RIGHT DIAGONAL DOUBLE HALF HITCH ROW:
- First strand on the left is "knot-bearer".
- With next strand to the right, tie Diagonal Double Half Hitch Knot onto knot-bearer.
- Working left-to-right, continue tying Diagonal Double Half Hitch Knots to knot-bearer using next strand to the right of previously knotted strand to end of row as indicated in pattern.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR RIGHT-LEFT DIAGONAL DOUBLE HALF HITCH ROW:
- Last strand on the right is "knot-bearer".
- With next strand to the left, tie Diagonal Double Half Hitch Knot onto knot-bearer.
- Working right-to-left, continue tying Diagonal Double Half Hitch Knots to knot-bearer using next strand to the left of previously knotted strand to end of row as indicated in pattern.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALTERNATING HALF HITCH SINNET (WORKED WITH 4 STRANDS):
- 2 strands at center are knot-bearing "core strands".
- With strand at left, tie one Half Hitch Knot onto core strands.
- With strand at right, tie one Half Hitch Knot onto core strands.
- Continue tying Half Hitch Knots, alternating left and right strands to length indicated in pattern.

WALL HANGING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Cut 24 strands 7yds long.
- Fold each strand in half and tie in Larks Head Knot to dowel.
- You now have 48 working strands.
- Strands are referenced below from left-to-right as strands 1 through 48.

SMALL CHEVRON SECTION:
- With first 8 strands, work 2 Left-Right Diagonal Double Half Hitch Rows (as outlined above).
- With next group of 8 strands (strands 9 to 16), work 3 Right-Left Diagonal Double Half Hitch Rows.
- With next group of 8 strands (strands 17 to 24) work 3 Left-Right Diagonal Double Half Hitch Rows.
- With next group of 8 strands (strands 24 to 32), work 3 Right-Left Diagonal Double Half Hitch Rows.
- JOIN: Continuing from right-to-left along same row, use last strand from previous group to tie one Diagonal Double Half Hitch onto same knot-bearing strand. This will join 3rd and 4th groups at center.
- With next group of 8 strands (strands 33 to 40), work 3 Left-Right Diagonal Double Half Hitch Rows.
- With next group of 8 (strands 41 to 48) work 2 Right-Left Diagonal Double Half Hitch Rows.

LARGE CHEVRON SECTION:
- From here, all strands are referenced again from left-to-right as strands 1 to 48. Disregard how strands numbers were rearranged after completion of previous section.
- With first 24 strands, work 3 Left-Right Diagonal Double Half Hitch Rows.
- With next group of 24 strands (strands 25 to 48) work 3 Right-Left Diagonal Double Half Hitch Rows.
- JOIN: Continuing from right-to-left along same row, use last strand from previous group to tie one Diagonal Double Half Hitch onto same knot-bearing strand. This will join left and right sections at center.

SINNET SECTION:
- Left Sinnet: Using first 4 strands at left, work Alternating Half-Hitch Sinnet for 14".
- Center Sinnet: Using center 4 strands, work Alternating Half-Hitch Sinnet for 7".
- Right Sinnet: Using last 4 strands at right, work Alternating Half-Hitch Sinnet for 14".
- Take right strand from Left Sinnet and left strand from Center Sinnet together to create new group of core strands.
- With right-most core strand from Left Sinnet, tie one Half Hitch Knot onto new group of core strands 5" from last previous knots.
- With left-most core strand from Center Sinnet, tie one Half Hitch Knot onto new group of core strands.
- Tie 2 more knots as worked previously for Alternating Half-Hitch Sinnet.
- Take left strand from Right Sinnet and right strand from Center Sinnet together to create new group of core strands.
- With right-most core strand from Center Sinnet, tie one Half Hitch Knot onto new group of core strands 5" from last previous knots.
- With left-most core strand from Right Sinnet, tie one Half Hitch Knot onto new group of core strands.
- Tie 2 more knots as worked previously for Alternating Half-Hitch Sinnet.
- Take left strand from Left Sinnet and right strand from Right Sinnet together to create new group of core strands, bringing them in front of other knots.
- With left-most core strand from Left Sinnet, tie one Half Hitch Knot onto new group of core strands 5" from last previous knots.
- With right-most core strand from Right Sinnet, tie one Half Hitch Knot onto new group of core strands.
- Tie 2 more knots as worked previously for Alternating Half-Hitch Sinnet.

GATHERING WRAP:
- Cut new strand 2yds long. With new strand, tie Gathering Wrap around all strands 5" down from last knots. Trim ends of new strand close to knot.
- Trim loose strands 12" from Gathering Wrap.
- Un-ply each loose strand by twisting strand clockwise until plies loosen, separating plies from the cut end up to knot. Comb fringe and trim evenly.
- Trim remaining loose strands evenly 32" down from dowel.

HANGING CORD:
- Cut 4 strands approx 48" long and hold together for Hanging Cord.
- Cut 4 strands approx 24" long for Gathering Cords.
- With Gathering Cords, tie 1" long Gathering Knots around Hanging Cord 4" and 6" down from each end of Hanging Cord. 4 Gathering Knots will be made in total.
- Insert dowel between strands between Gathering Knots as seen in photo. Gathering Knots can be adjusted up or down to rest tightly against dowel.
- Trim ends of Hanging Cord evenly.
- Un-ply each loose strand by twisting strand clockwise until plies loosen, separating plies from the cut end up to knot.
