SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Bernat Blanket (10.5 oz/300 g; 220 yds/201 m)
  • Contrast A silver steel - 4 balls or 808 yds/739 m
  • Contrast B vintage white - 3 balls or 557 yds/509 m
  • Size U.S. L/11 (8 mm) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.

  • GAUGE:
    • 7 sc and 8 rows = 4" [10 cm]
    • 3 V-sts and 4.5 rows = 4" [10 cm] in pat

  • MEASUREMENTS: Approx 50 1/2"x 64" [128 x 162.5 cm].

NOTES:
Ch 3 at beg of row counts as dc.
Work initial chain firmly to match height of following rows.
To change colors, work to last 2 loops on hook of last st. Draw new color through last 2 loops and proceed.

With A, ch 117 (multiple of 3 ch + 6). (See diagram)
Foundation row: (RS). (1 dc. Ch 1. 1 dc - V-st made) in 6th ch from hook (skipped ch-5 counts as 1 dc and 2 skipped ch). *Skip next 2 ch. V-st in next ch. Rep from * to last 3 ch. Skip next 2 ch. 1 dc in last ch. 37 V-sts. Turn.

1st row: Ch 3. V-st in ch-1 sp of each V-st to end of row. 1 dc in top of turning-ch. Turn.
Rep last row to form Pat.
With A, work 6 more rows in pat. Join B.
**With B, work 8 rows in pat. Join A.
With A, work 8 rows in pat. Join B.**
Rep from ** to ** 3 times more.
Fasten off.

FINISHING:
Side edging: With RS facing, join A with sl st to bottom right corner of Blanket. Ch 1. Work 1 row of sc evenly up side edge of Blanket. Fasten off.
Rep for opposite side.
