Sew shoulder seams. Fold Hood in half along back seam edge and sew center back seam (See Diagram). Pin side edge of Hood along neck opening, beg at center of button or buttonhole bands and matching back seam of Hood to center back neck edge. Sew Hood in position.
Edging: With RS of work facing, join A with sl st to left side seam. Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as sl st. Work 1 rnd of sc around entire outer edge of Jacket, including Hood and working 3 sc in corners.
Boy’s Version only: Next rnd:
Ch 1. Working from left to right instead of right to left as usual, work 1 reverse sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
Girl’s Version only: Next rnd:
Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as sl st. Miss next 2 sc. 5 dc in next sc. Miss next 2 sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
Sew in Sleeves placing rows above markers along armhole edges of Fronts and Back to form square armholes. Sew side and sleeve seams, reversing 2" [5 cm] of sleeve seam at bottom for
turn-back. Sew buttons to correspond to buttonholes.
