SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Fabric, color A
- Fabric, color B
- Sewing machine
- Thread
- Bias tape maker
- 12" zipper
DIRECTIONS:
- Cut 5 strips of fabric A and 6 strips of fabric B, 1 1/2" wide x 14" long.
- Place 2 strips right sides together. Stitch together one long end with 1/4" seam.
- Continue stitching strips together until there is an 11"x 14" piece. Iron back flat.
- Hold the two side pieces, right sides together and sew along one of the short edges. Turn right side out and iron flat.
- Place the lining and bag fabrics, wrong sides together and baste around the edges, 3/8" from the edge.
- Cut fabric A 1 1/2" wide on the bias. Use a number 18 bias tape maker and iron the tape flat.
- Cut two 15" pieces of bias tape for the sides. Sew the tape along the sides and trim it even to the top of the bag.
- Baste the zipper to the top of bag.
- Cut two 12" pieces of bias tape. See the tape along the top of the bag.
- Cut two pieces of fabric 2 3/4"x 1 1/2". With one piece, fold in each short side 1/2" and iron flat. Fold in half, right sides together and sew seams 1/4" on the unfolded edges. Turn right side out, iron.
- Repeat for other tab.
- Fit the tab over the ends of the zipper and topstitch in place.

Directions are confusing in places. Seems like some things are not said but implied.
