SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Preferred cake mix
- Cake pans (either 6" or 8" depending on the height you want)
- Assorted candies and sprinkles in black and white colors
- Piping bag & decorative tip
DIRECTIONS:
- Make sure you let your cake cool completely before adding any icing (otherwise it will all melt off).
- “Dirty icing" the cake, or applying a thin layer of icing to the cake, and chilling the cake in the refrigerator, will lock all of the crumbs in, retain moistness and help to create a smooth finish.
- Once chilled, add a thicker layer of icing to the sides and top, smoothing it out to create an even surface. Chill again to set icing.
- After the icing is set, add a ringed wreath of icing using your favorite piping bag tip.
- Add an assortment of different sprinkles and candies to the cake.
JOANN Hacks:
- Placing the cake in a shallow baking pan while adding sprinkles will keep them from
- going all over your counter and floor.
