Hello, spring! This is quite possibly my favorite time of the year. There’s just something so amazing about opening up the windows, deleting the clutter and freshening up a space to welcome in a new season. I love changing up my decor and I’m here to share this fun and budget-friendly DIY project to do just that. Hi, Rebecca here today from Petite Party Studio, sharing with you today my spring take on these darling DIY Tea Towels. DIY decorative tea towels are a great way to change out colors and patterns to freshen up a room without breaking the bank and the perfect way to welcome spring!
I came up with 4 different ways to decorate these tea towels. All of the supplies to make them can be found at your local Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores.
There is really no right or wrong way to complete this project. Pull together whatever element you like and get to crafting! The first one I created was this dip dyed | tie-dyed towel with a small knit trim.
I taped off a random design and painted different areas with the craft paint.
Once the paint is dry, peel off the taped sections to reveal you color blocked pattern.
Next, using fabric and various trims, I adhered them to the flour sack towel using Liquid Stitch.
Last but not least and quite possibly my favorite one…is this hand painted cactus tea towel.
I used sponge pouncers to start my cactus designs.
Once the basic shapes were dry, I went back in and added the pink flowers and white dots and then finished the edge with the Pom Pom Trim.
So there they are 4 tea towels, 4 ways to DIY them…which is your fave? Happy crafting!!
