Hi there! Merrick from Merrick’s Art here. October is one of my very favorite months – the crisp air, pumpkin-flavored everything, changing leaves. It’s just the best. Sadly in SoCal, October is our hottest month of the year, so I’m burning candles and sweating through baking sessions in an effort to get a bit of the season.
I also love decorating my house for the fall. I’m excited to share an easy DIY fall table centerpiece that you can use for Halloween and into November as well.
Materials You’ll Need:
● “Funkins” fake carvable pumpkin
● hot glue
● gold glitter
● silk flowers
● serrated knife
Step 1. Using your serrated knife, cut the top off of your fake pumpkin.
Step 2. Using your hot glue gun, pipe strips of glue down the side of your pumpkin, following the lines of the pumpkin. You’ll want to do this in small 3-4 inch sections since the glue dries so quickly. Before the glue dries, shake the gold glitter onto the glue and tap off any excess.
Step 3. Create a floral arrangement from your silk flowers and place in the pumpkin.
*Alternatively, you could do an arrangement of orange, red and yellow fall leaves. Or cut your pumpkin top a little larger so you have enough room to place a small vase inside, and then fill with fresh flowers.
