Lovelies, Father’s Day is right around the corner and I have two kid gifts that Dad will love to get. Emily here from B. Lovely Events and if you are looking for a fun craft night with the kiddos then these Father’s Day gift ideas will be perfect for that. These Father’s Day gifts are easy, made with things found around the house and Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, and kids will love putting them together.
Father’s Day Pinecone Picture Frame
Personal pictures with handmade picture frames are always great gifts because they are 2 memories in one which I love. Personalized picture frames are so easy to craft too. With just a few supplies and a couple of steps, you and your child can make this frame in no time.
Here is what you need:
• 5X7 or 4X6 frame (depending on how big your photo is) with flat edges.
• Pinecones– Grab some from outside with the kiddos or pick some up from JOANN
• Hot Glue Gun & Glue
• Cardstock 8 1/2”X11” Paper
• Kid Friendly Scissors
• Family or photo of your child
Step by step how to:
Step 1– Get with your kiddo and show them how to dab the hot glue on the back of the pinecone, Supervision is certainly required and it may even be a “watch mommy or daddy glue these pinecones on the frame, but you tell me where they should go” sort of thing depending on the age of your child.
Step 2-Make an interactive game out of picking and putting the pinecones around the frame as you glue them all around the edge. There is no template to follow here, rather the more organize and customized it is from you and your child, the more personal it will feel as a Father’s Day gift.
Step 3– Finish the frame all the way around with pinecones and let cool. Be sure all of them are secure, and will not fall once the frame is vertical.
Step 4– Now it’s time to add the cute little tag to the frame. Download the pine tree tags here and print them out on cardstock paper on your printer. Then have your little one cut around the tree out from the paper. There are lots on there so if they mess up 1 or 2, that’s ok! The tags read- “With You & Me Dad, The Pinecone Doesn’t Fall Too Far From the Tree!” Dad will love it!
Step 5– Once the tree is cut out, hot glue it to the corner of the frame. Add your favorite photo and your pinecone frame Father’s Day gift is complete!
The frame is so cute and small enough for Dad to put on his desk or dresser which I love. He can look at this cute little creation every day.
Personalized Dad Snack Bowl
We all know that Dads love to snack so why not make him is own personalized bowl that only he can use! This bowl for Dad is really easy to put together and just takes a few of kids favorite things…stickers! Stroll down the Jo-Ann scrapbook section with their stickers and embellishments and pick out your favorite ones. Get a combo of alphabet stickers to sayings and other ones that jump out at you that you think Dad will love!
There isn’t really a how-to here, but rather let your creativity run wild! You do need a bowl that you are comfortable utilizing as Dad’s favorite bowl. Grab a hot glue gun and some hot glue to secure the stickers on for the long haul.
I love this craft as well because it can also be so interactive like the frame. Pick out stickers together and place them around the outside of the bowl. Go through the alphabet together and teach how to spell the word, Dad. If they are a little older, have them pick out their own stickers and alphabets for independence encouragement. Whatever you decide, it will be great because you are doing it together. Dad will see that when he gets this customized bowl just for him.
Once it is complete, add in Dad’s favorite snack and surprise him on Father’s Day. I bet he’ll love it!
Happy crafting with you and your kiddo on these projects Lovelies! They are too fun!
