Intermediate 1-2 Hours

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Floral tape
  • Wire Cutters
  • Floral Wire 24 Gauge
  • Hot glue gun/glue gun sticks
  • 1 gray Peony stem
  • 1 small blue Hydrangea
  • 1 gray Tweedia spray
  • 1 gray Heather spray

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Begin by removing the leaves from the floral stem, except for those that are closest to the flower head. Set aside greens to include later if necessary. Trim floral stems to about 6-8" in length.
  2. Gather floral together to create a small bouquet. Tape the floral together in the same location as you continue to add flowers to the piece.
  3. Separate the Tweedia flowers and trim apart from the main stem keeping them in clusters.
  4. Separate and trim the Heather floral from the main stem. Add the Heather flowers individually into the piece. Push the greenery up closer to the flower before inserting into the arrangement.
  5. Cut the stems down to a small nub about 3/4" in length. Wrap another layer of floral tape around the stems to secure a tight, clean finish. Add a dab of hot glue to the tape to secure.

Joann Hacks:

  • If some stems are too short to include into the arrangement, add floral wire to the stem and wrap the wire with floral tape to lengthen the stem.
  • Occasionally add a dab of hot glue to the floral tape to keep it secure and to prevent unravelling.
  • When adding floral to the piece, be sure to tape it in the same location every time you include another stem.
