22 sts = 4' in pattern.
Be sure to check your gauge.
When matching the gauge in a pattern, the project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes fewer stitches and rows to make a 4' square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
With dark pink, cast on 30 sts.
Knit 5 rows.
Row 1: K first 4 sts, p across to last 4 sts, k last 4 sts.
Row 2: K across.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 until almost all dark pink has been used.
Change to purple and continue to rep Rows 1 and 2 until almost all purple has been used.
Continue as established, rep Rows 1 and 2 and changing color as follows: light pink, yellow, green, melon, turquoise. Work until final color block (orange) measures about 1 in. (2.5 cm) less than previous color blocks. With orange, k 4 rows.
