Bow Scrunchie

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Sewing Machine
  • Iron & Ironing Board
  • Rotary Cutter & Cutting Board
  • 6 1/2" elastic
  • 1/2 yd Sports Fabric
  • Pins

DIRECTIONS:

NOTE: Sew 1/4" seam allowance.

SCRUNCHIE

  1. Cut one 4 1/2" x 18" length of fabric.
  2. Fold and press under 1/2" on one short side.
  3. With RST, sew the long side leaving both ends open. Turn.
  4. Attach a safety pin to one end of elastic, pin the other side to an opening of the tube.
  5. Pull the pin and elastic through the tube.
  6. Pin elastic ends together and sew.
  7. Insert the raw edge of scrunchie into folded edge and sew across.

SCRUNCHIE BOW

  1. Cut 6" x 22" piece of fabric. (Length can be adjusted if you want a longer bow)
  2. Fold bow in half lengthwise.
  3. Cut a 45-degree angle at both ends of bow.
  4. Starting in center, sew along the length and down one side of angle. Sew remaining side leaving an opening for turning.
  5. Turn and sew opening closed.
  6. Tie bow around scrunchie at seam.
