NOT AS ADVERTISED. I/9 hook is actually 5.25 mm
Advertised as 5.5 mm for the I/9 crochet hook, which is what I wanted. When I received it, the I/9 hook was actually 5.25 mm. I’m going to return it as soon as one of my orders is ready for pick up.

I really prefer Boye
I totally prefer Boye over Susan Bates hooks. My first crochet hook was a Boye I-9 and I liked it so much that I tried to use it on all my worsted weight beginner projects. I would definitely recommend that beginners get one of each and see what they like. I find Boye hooks have a more pointy head that makes it easy to insert into a stitch accurately, especially with fuzzy or loosely wound yarn. I also like the length and shape of the tapered part of the shaft.

Easy for me to use
I have used these and other brands of hooks, however, I find that Boye hooks work well for me. They fit my hand and glide easily thru the projects I'm working on.

Perfect Balance: leverage/lightest touch are key
I've tried -many- brands/styles...but find these Hooks do sooo much of the work for me. I think folks who struggle may not realize importance of it's position in-hand: Keep the head turned down...at alllllll times. Pivot flat area in handle over thumb, and do not apply lots of pressure. With practice you'll see...barely have to touch the hook to create stitches. If having to -force- to create stitch, something in position is off, way off. These truly are superior Hooks: NO PADDING: HIGHLY recommend.

Good hooks to start with
These hooks are great for beginners and those who don't work for long periods of time on certain projects. The only complaints I have about them is that they made my thumb sore where it rubbed on the lettering for the brand, and that my hand cramped up after a while holding the hooks in the same position for extended periods of time. Other than these two things, this product isn't really bad.

Intermediate Beginner
I have tried several different brands of hooks, but find that Boye works best for me. I prefer the rounded edge of the hook at the top of the hook over the flat edge on the Susan Bates hooks. I find that I can crochet much more quickly with Boye than any other hooks.
I just wish that Boye made an aluminum "M" hook.

Boye is for me
I learned how to crochet using these hooks and will continue to only use Boye hooks. The shape works best for me and I can work quickly with it.

Worst Hooks I have ever tried
As far as I'm concerned, there is nothing wrong with these hooks, since they get such good reviews, but I HATE them. I learned to crochet on them, and that's why I quit for 3 years, until I found Susan Bates Crystalite hooks, and I would not recommend these hooks to anyone, especially those starting out.
