DIRECTIONS:
- The bubbles are built as a separate unit from the cauldron.
- Download the 10 1/2" circle pattern in the "GET PATTERNS" tab, or draw a 10 1/2" circle to use as a template. Transfer the circle onto the foam core board and cut. This circle should fit down into the top of the cauldron. Adjust the size of the circle to fit if the cauldron is a different size.
- Attach a ribbon to the top of the cauldron. Cut a length of ribbon to fit around the top indentation of the cauldron with a 2" overlap. Fold under and hot glue one end of the ribbon to the cauldron. Repeat for the end of the ribbon.
- Adhere the fiberfill to the foam core board. Apply small random lines of hot glue onto the board. Press handfuls of fiberfill onto the glue. Leave areas of the board without glue as the first layer of ornaments will need to secure directly to the board.
- Attach the ornament bubbles. Set the board into the top of the cauldron. Push the fiberfill aside, creating a small spot of board. Hot glue the largest ornaments onto the surface of the board with the hangers toward the board. Keep some space between the ornaments to run the lights.
- Set some of the lights. Start with the end of the lights without the switch. Weave the lights through the attached ornaments. Turn on the lights frequently to make sure there is an even distribution of the lights through the bubbles.
- Adhere the remaining ornaments and lights. Test fit each ornament between ornaments already attached to the board. Make sure that there will be sufficient contact points between the ornaments to keep the bubbles as one unit once glued. Continue to weave the lights through the attached ornaments. Some ornaments may extend beyond the perimeter of the cauldron. Just be sure that the board will not be locked in place by the ornaments. Otherwise, the switch may need to be on the outside of the cauldron.
- Leave the switch end long enough to tuck inside of the cauldron, under the foam board circle. Add more fiberfill between the bubbles. To help conceal the wires and hot glue between the bubbles add small amounts of fiberfill. This will also soften the overall look of the bubbles. Place a small amount of hot glue in random crevices between the ornaments and cover with fiberfill. Do not apply hot glue directly to a light.
