SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 1 Plain Tumbler
- We Tumbler Machine
- Mod Podge
- Pink Spray Paint
- Pink Glitter
- Black Glitter
- Medium Paint Brush
- Painter's Tape
- Plastic Gloves
- Mixing Containers
- Popsicle Sticks
- Paper Towels
- Fine Grit Sandpaper
- Heat Gun
- X-Acto Knife
DIRECTIONS:
- Spray paint the tumbler pink and let it dry.
- Use the painter's tape and evenly tape off vertical stripes around the tumbler. Press them firmly.
- Then, apply painter’s tape around the tumbler evenly spaced stripes. Apply Mod Podge to the open areas and sprinkle red glitter.
- Press firmly. Remove the horizontal stripes of tape.
- Mix the red and black glitter together to get the middle color. Apply Mod Podge to the open horizontal areas and then apply the glitter mixture. Let it dry.
- Then remove the rest of the tape and you will apply Mod Podge to the diagonal squares using the glitter mixture. Let it dry.
- Apply Mod Podge to the last open vertical areas and sprinkle the black glitter. Let it dry.
- Spray the tumbler with the acrylic spray and let it dry.
- Place the tumbler onto the tumbler turner and make sure it is level. Apply a thin layer of resin onto the tumbler.
- Let it spin for 8-12 hours. Sand off any bumps with the fine grit sandpaper. Apply another layer of resin and let it spin for 8-12 hours.
- Remove off of the tumbler and trim off any excess resin around the top of the tumbler with your x-acto knife.
JOANN HACKS:
- Use the heat gun to remove any air bubbles.
- Be careful not to get too close to the resin with the heat gun. Make sure it is level as it is spinning. Check on it a couple of times early in the drying process.
