Bug Jar

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • Glass or Plastic Jar with Lid
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue Fun/Glue Gun Sticks
  • Felt, Assorted Colors
  • Felt Bug Stickers (butterflies, ladybugs, bees)
  • Chenille Stems
  • Hammer & Nail (for poking holes in top of lid)
  • Pencil or Pen

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Use hammer and nail to hammer small holes into the top of the metal or plastic lid of the jar for air holes.
  2. Use scissors to cut strips of felt in several different colors. Cut strips about 1/2 inch wide and 11" in length.
  3. Use hot glue to attach the strips around the jar, up from the bottom creating a rainbow effect.
  4. Attach felt bugs to the strips of felt using hot glue.
  5. To form the handle, string a chenille stem through one of the holes near the edge of the lid. Twist into a knot inside the lid, add hot glue to secure.
  6. Add beads to the chenille stem leaving 1 1/2" - 2" of the chenille stem open.
  7. Thread stem end through the opposite end of the lid. Twist the end into a knot and add hot glue to secure.
