With right sides together, sew from marked dot to marked dot, leaving an opening for turning. Clip around curves. Turn right side out and press. Hand stitch opening closed. Tie knot in each corner.
- Cut 2 Pattern template D from swaddle fabric and 2 from printed flannel. With right sides together, sew one flannel piece to one swaddle fabric piece, leaving an opening at bottom for turning. Repeat for second ear. Turn and press.
- Cut 1 Pattern Template B and 1 Pattern Template C from printed flannel. Fold piece C in half and sew center dart from marked dot to marked dot. Pin ears along top edge of piece C where marked on template. Ears should be pointed down, and inside of ears should be facing right side of piece C. Baste ears in place.
- Pin piece B to piece C with right sides together. Be sure to tuck ears in to avoid catching in seam. Sew around 3 sides of piece B, leaving open at neck to turn.
- Turn right side out and stuff lightly with Polyfil. Using a needle and thread, gather stitch the neck opening 1/4" from edge. Turn raw edge to inside of head and pull gather stitch tight. Stitch head to center of blanket.
- Using 2 strands of embroidery floss, embroider face using Template E as a guide. For whiskers, create a knot in embroidery floss leaving a 1" tail. Draw needle through face using marked dots as a guide and knot off close to second dot. Trim whiskers to desired length.
