Item # 042188731P55
Beginner 1-2 Hours
SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • 6 ft of 1" wide cotton webbing
  • Cotton fabric
  • Bolt snap with 1" opening
  • 1" Bias tape maker
  • Iron
  • Thread
  • Sewing machine

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Cut a little over 6 feet of 2" wide fabric. If you do not have 6 continuous feet of fabric, you can sew lengths together to achieve 6 feet.  If you do sew lengths together, press the seam open with the iron so that the seams lay flat.
  2. Cut the top of the fabric into a point and slide into the 1" bias tape maker.  Slowly pull the fabric though, ironing the folds down as you go, until the entire length of fabric is 1" wide with crisply folded edges.
  3. Pin and sew the fabric length onto the cotton webbing.
  4. Fold over 8" on one side to form the leash handle. Secure the edge of the handle by sewing a square with an X through the center.
  5. At the other end of the leash, insert the webbing through the bolt snap’s 1" opening and secure by sewing a thin rectangle with an X through the center.
