Camo Tween High Waist Shorts and Olive Top

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• Basic sewing supplies
• Sewing machine
• POP! Camo knit (following the pattern jacket for yardage needed)
• POP! Solid knit (following the pattern jacket for yardage needed)
• McCalls 8160
• McCalls 8063

DIRECTIONS:

Tween top (M8160):

1. Construct pattern per instructions.
2. On the wrong side, stay stitch the front and back neck.
3. Right sides together, sew the front and back top at shoulder seams.
4. Construct and sew the sleeve per pattern instructions.
5. Attach the front and back at side seams.
6. Hem accordingly the neck, sleeves, and bottom tee per pattern instructions.

Tween shorts (M8063):

7. To create a garbage bag waist, take the measurements needed before cutting the commercial pattern.
8. Add the additional measurement to the waist of the shorts and cut the fashion fabric.
9. Create belt loops wide enough for the belt and a tie long enough to tie a bow for the waist.
10. Construct the rest of the shorts per commercial pattern instructions, then add the garbage bag waist element.

Craft Hack Tips and Tricks:

• Make sure the belt loops are wide and fit enough for the belt. The belt should be 1 1/4" in width.
