SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Simplicity Pattern 8277 - View E
- White Fleece - 2 yards
- 3/4" Hook and Loop Tape - 1/4 yard
- 3" Foam Spheres - 9
- Hack Saw
- Acrylic Paint - Hot Pink, Yellow, Blue
- Paintbrush
- Hot Glue Gun & Hot Glue
DIRECTIONS:
- Use the coat and strap pieces of Simplicity 8277 View E as a template. Add 1/2" seam allowance to the coat piece and cut two. One piece is the coat, one piece is the lining. Transfer markings for strap placement. Cut the four strap pieces as directed. Sew the straps as directed.
- Place straps on the markings on the coat piece; raw edge to raw edge. The strap body should be on top of the coat.
- Place the lining on top of coat (straps are sandwiched in between).
- Sew with a 1/2" seam allowance all the way around the coat, leaving a 3" opening on one of the sides for turning right side out. Clip little triangles every 1/2" or so on the curves of the neckline. Turn right side out, press, and sew opening closed. Set aside.
- Cut foam spheres in half. Paint 6 hot pink, 6 yellow, 6 blue and allow to dry. Add additional coats until paint is opaque. Arrange spheres on back of coat evenly; 2 rows of pink, then yellow, then blue. Hot glue in place and allow to dry.
JOANN HACKS:
