SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Candy Melts® (6 oz each): blue, pink, bright pink, orange, turquoise
- Roll-out cookie dough recipe
- Buttercream icing recipe
- Cake board
- Parchment paper
- 5 small mixing bowls
- 9" angled spatula
- Rolling pin
- Valentine cookie cutter set (heart cutter used here)
- Cookie sheet
- Cooling rack
DIRECTIONS:
- Melt candy. Cover cake board with parchment paper. Set aside. Melt blue, pink, orange, bright pink and turquoise candy, separately, according to package directions. Using spatula, swipe two candy colors on parchment paper, blending colors in center to form new colors: Blue & bright pink for purple
- Turquoise & blue for aqua
- Orange & bright pink for coral
- Chill candy until set, 5 to 10 minutes.
- Prepare cookie dough following recipe instructions.
- Roll out to 1/8" thickness. Using Valentine cutter, cut out cookies. Bake and cool.
- Prepare buttercream icing following recipe instructions.
- To decorate cookies, break candy swipes into pieces, varying in size. Using spatula, ice cookies smooth. Position candy pieces on cookies, overlapping as needed.
