Candy Melt Night Sky Toppers

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Favorite chocolate cake mix or recipe
  • Orange Candy Melts® Candy
  • Yellow Candy Melts® Candy
  • Bright White Candy Melts® Candy
  • Black Icing Pouch with Tip (2 pouches needed)
  • White Nonpareils
  • Standard 12-Cup Muffin Pan
  • Standard White, Black & Silver Baking Cups (black baking cups used)
  • Cooling Grid
  • Disposable Decorating Bags
  • Scissors
  • Parchment Paper
  • Cake Board
  • Tape
  • 9" Angled Spatula

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Bake cupcakes. Prepare your favorite cake batter recipe. Bake and cool cupcakes in black baking cups.
  2. Melt candy. Melt Orange, Yellow and Bright White candy, separately, according to package instructions. Pour melted candy, separately, into three decorating bags. Cut 1/4" off end of each bag.
  3. On parchment paper-covered board, pipe stars (Orange and Yellow) and moons (Bright White). Chill until set, about 10 minutes.
  4. Decorate cupcakes. Knead icing pouches to warm up frosting. Pipe icing over top of cupcakes, using spatula to smooth. Position candy stars and moons on cupcakes. Top with nonpareils.
