Car Cargo Net

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1 1/4yds polyester cargo net
  • 5 1/2yds 1/2" elastic
  • 4 medium carabiners
  • Sewing machine
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut netting 45" wide x 42" high.
  2. Fold in both 42" sides 1" and again 1" and stitch at fold.
  3. Repeat at 45" width.
  4. Fold right sides together, matching stitched edges.
  5. At bottom single fold, stitch 1" from folded edge.
  6. Pin finished 19" edges together.
  7. Stitch both 19" sides together at finished edges being sure to leave both top and bottom casings open.
  8. Cut three 63" pieces of elastic.
  9. On all three, fold in all ends 2 1/2" and stitch forming a loop.
  10. Mark middle of all three casings.
  11. Mark middle of all 3 elastic pieces.
  12. Insert one piece of elastic into each of the three casings, matching the middle marks.
  13. Tack in place at each of the three middle points.
  14. Place one carabiner in elastic loop at each side of bottom.
  15. Hook one carabiner to the two elastic loops at eack side of top (pocket).
  16. Carabiners will hook to closed hooks in most cars.
