**With smaller needles cast on 78 (86-98-106-122-138) sts.
1st row: (RS). *K2. P2. Rep from * to last 2 sts. K2.
2nd row: *P2. K2. Rep from * to last 2 sts. P2.
Rep last 2 rows (K2. P2) ribbing for 2½" [6 cm], ending with a 2nd row and inc 3 (3-1-3-1-3) st(s) evenly across last row. 81 (89-99-109-123-141) sts.
Change to larger needles proceed in stocking st until work from beg measures 15 (15-15- 5½-15½-15½)" [38 (38-38-39.5-39.5-39.5) cm] for Her Version or 16 (16-16-16½-16½-16½)" [40.5 (40.5-40.5-42-42-42) cm] for His Version, ending on a purlrow.
Shape armholes: Cast off 6 (8-10-12-9-12) sts at beg of next 2 (2-2-2-4-4) rows. 69 (73-79-85-87-93) sts.

Shape V-neck: 1st row: (RS). K2. ssk. K25 (26-27-29-31-33). K2tog (neck edge). Turn. Leave rem sts on a spare needle.
2nd row: Purl.
3rd row: K2. ssk. Knit to last 2 sts. K2tog.
4th row: Purl.
Rep last 2 rows once more. 25 (26-27-29-31-33) sts rem.
Keeping armhole edge even, dec 1 st at neck edge only on next and alt rows until there are 19 (17-17-18-21-22) sts rem, then on following 4th rows until there are 14 (14-15-16-18-19) sts rem.

Pick up and knit 33 (37-37-41-41-43) sts up right front neck edge. K29 (31-31-33-33-35) from back neck st holder dec 0 (2-2-0-0-0) st(s) evenly across. 97 (105-105-117-117-121) sts.
1st row: (WS). *P2. K2. Rep from * 14 (15-15-17-17-18) times more. P2tog. P1 (center st). P2tog. **K2. P2. Rep from ** to end of row.
2nd row: *K2. P2. Rep from * to 3 sts before center st. K1. P2tog. K1 (center st). P2tog. Rib to endof row.
3rd row: *P2. K2. Rep from * to 2 sts before center st. K2tog. P1 (center st). K2tog. Rib to end of row.

Beg and ending on a WS row, work 7 rows in (K2. P2) ribbing as given for Back. Cast off in ribbing. Sew side and armband seams.
