- Sizes U.S. 8 (5 mm) and U.S. 10 (6 mm) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge. Small amount of white yarn for embroidery. White rick-rack trim.
MEASUREMENTS
Approx 4½” [11.5 cm] long x 4” [10 cm] tall.
GAUGE
16 sts and 24 rows = 4” [10 cm] in garter stitch with 2 strands held tog on larger needles.
Directions
With 2 strands of yarn held tog and larger needles, cast on 12 sts. Knit 3 rows (garter st), noting 1st row is RS. Next row: (WS). Cast off 5 sts. Knit to end of row. 7 sts. Knit 7 rows (garter st), noting 1st row is RS. Cast on 5 sts. Knit 3 rows, noting 1st row is WS. Next row: (RS). K1. M1. Knit to end of row. 13 sts. Next row: Cast off 7 sts. Knit to last st. M1. K1. 7 sts. Shape Head: 1st row: K1. M1. Knit to last 3 sts. ssk. K1. 2nd row: Knit. 3rd and 4th rows: As 1st and 2nd rows. 5th row: Cast off 1 st. Knit to end of row. 6 sts. 6th row: Knit. 7th row: ssk. Knit to end of row. 5 sts. 8th row: Knit to last 2 sts. K2tog. 4 sts. 9th row: As 7th row. 3 sts. Cast off 3 sts.
Finishing
Glue rick-rack trim to Horse as shown in picture. With white yarn, embroider harness.
Hanging loop: With 1 strand of yarn and smaller needles, cast on 30 sts. Cast off. Fold in half and attach to top of Horse.
