SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 1 1/2yds black satin
- 1 1/2yds medium weight fusible interfacing
- 1/4yd of black velvet
- 1/4yd of shiny silver fabric
- 1pkg of Wonder Under
- Assortment of silver star & moon charms, silver chains and jump rings
- Scissors
- Pins
- Sewing machine
- Iron
- Thread to match
- Pattern template A and B
DIRECTIONS:
To find the downloadable patterns click on the "GET PATTERNS" tab above.- Fuse main fabric to medium weight fusible interfacing per packaging instructions.
- Cut (1) template A and (1) template B from fused satin and (1) each from unfused satin.
- With wrong sides together, baste fused satin cut from template A to unfused satin cut from template A. Fold in half with right sides together and sew along straight edge.
- Layer fused satin and unfused satin cut from template B with right sides together. Sew along outer edge. Turn right side out. Baste along inner circle.
- Pin hat brim to hat body with right sides together. Sew in place. Cut a length of satin 2" wide. Turn under 1/4" on both edges. Hand stitch in place over exposed seam of inner brim.
- Use whatever fabric you prefer to make star and moon patches; we used solid black velvet and sparkly black velvet, as well as silver fabric to create an outline. Iron Wonder Under onto the wrong side of the fabric. Cut out star and moon shapes. Iron black shapes on top the silver shapes if you'd like to see that pop of silver outline. Iron your final shapes onto the hat.
- While wearing the hat, carefully pin the end points of decorative chains to the underside of the brim. Once they are in position, tack firmly in place with needle and thread.

Why do I even bother?
It's been almost a month since the first person said they couldn't access the pattern and the link is still broken. No follow-up --- again. I'm so disappointed in the patterns and instructions in your projects. Can I vote with ZERO stars?
