SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
DIRECTIONS:
JOANN HACKS:
- 1 Larger Cylinder Ceramic Vase
- 1 Can of Black Spray Paint
- 1 Can of White Spray Paint
- 1 Roll of Painter's Tape
- Pencil
DIRECTIONS:
- Spray paint 2-3 layers of white paint onto the vase and let it dry between layers.
- Start at the bottom of the vase and with the pencil evenly mark off squares around the base.
- This will be where you start the pattern. Place vertical rows of painter's tape up the vase. Press the tape firmly at the edges.
- Then, make horizontal rows with the painter's tape around the vase starting at the bottom.
- Make sure you go completely to the top of the vase with the painter's tape.
- Spray paint the entire vase black. Remove the tape and you will see the first layer of balck squares.
- Make sure you let it dry completely.
- Next you will tape off the white squares that stay white following the checkered pattern and spray paint the remaining open squares that need to be painted black. Spray paint it with the black spray paint.
JOANN HACKS:
- As you are taping nearer the top of the vase, you will need to cut your painter's tape in narrowing strips to match the tapered vase.
