SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Simplicity® 8712
- 2yds cotton fabric for the main child's apron & doll apron trim
- 1/2yd cotton fabric for the main doll apron & child's apron trim
- 3/8yd interfacing
- 3/8yd 1/2" hook & loop tape
- Sewing machine
- Rotary cutter/straight edge/cutting board
- Straight pins
- Iron/ironing surface
- 1/2" bias tape, or 1/2" bias tape maker (optional) & quilting square (optional)
DIRECTIONS:
- Follow instructions for Simplicity Pattern 8712, style B.
- Use contrasting fabric for the ruffles and ties.
Craft Hack Tips and Tricks:
- To make the bias tape that lines the arm holes out of the same fabric as the main body, use a 1/2" bias tape maker. With a quilting square, find a 45 degree angle across your fabric and cut a strip that is 1" thick. Cut edge at a diagonal, and slide the fabric in through the bias tape maker, ironing the folds on the other end.
