DIRECTIONS:
- Download CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN SVG design, then upload into your cutter software.
- Assign a color to each layer accordingly. In this case, EasyWeed black for the "santa" text, Santa's eyes, and numbers, EasyWeed red for the "countdown" rectangle, "days until Christmas" text, the number "1", and the small present, and EasyWeed® cream for Santa's face.
- Place EasyWeed black with the carrier side facing down on the cutting mat and load into cutter. Mirror design and cut, then remove from mat when finished. Repeat for EasyWeed red and EasyWeed cream.
- Use scissors to cut the designs from each HTV material to save any unused vinyl. Use the EasyWeeder to remove excess material from each design. Don't forget the cavities!
- Use scissors to cut the piece of felt to 7" x 18".
- Turn on EasyPress and set temperature to 335 F. Pre-press felt for a few seconds to remove any wrinkles or moisture.
- Position the EasyWeed red first on the felt. Cover with parchment paper and tack down with a 5 second press, then remove the carrier sheet hot. Repeat this step with EasyWeed cream.
- Layer the EasyWeed black last so that the "santa" text is slightly overlapping the "countdown" text and Santa's eyes are positioned underneath his eyebrows. Cover with parchment paper and press the entire piece of felt for 15 seconds, then remove the carrier sheet hot.
- Use a hole puncher to punch a hole in both of the corners at the top of the felt. Cut a piece of string and thread it through both holes, tying a knot at each end to secure the string in place.
- Use a clothes pin to mark the number of days left til Christmas and let the countdown begin!
JOANN HACKS:
- All time, temperature, and pressure settings for heat applying Siser HTV can be found at siserna.com. Add an additional 30°F to our recommended settings anytime you are using a Cricut EasyPress.
- With multi-color designs and EasyWeed, you can use 5-second presses also known as Tacks for each additional color.
- Even pressure is key when applying HTV. If the HTV peels up with the carrier, replace carrier and press again for a few seconds. Even though EasyWeed is a hot peel, allowing the adhesive to cool a little before peeling the carrier sheet off may help.
