DIRECTIONS:
SUMMARY: This project is started in a 2x2 rib for the band of the hat and knit from the bottom up. Ribs will be added in between ribs to create the shape of the beret, and decreased accordingly. Stitches are in multiples of 4, and can be adjusted up by 4 stitches or down by 4 stitches to make a Small or Large size hat. Work in the Eastern method of knitting for a tighter rib or size down in needles. When directions are *in between stars* - repeat this pattern across to complete each row.
Cast on 36 stitches, spread over 4 size 11 DPNs.
PM to mark beginning of row, and slip marker on every row forward. Work in 2x2 rib, or knit two purl two, for 5 rows. This forms the bottom band of the hat.
